# Jonathan Palmieri M.S. > Senior Software Applications Engineer @ Tesla Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jonathanpalmierims My interest for computers was sparked when I built my first pc at 13, which was shortly followed by a few more for my friends. Technology, Engineering and Coding have allowed me to meet some amazing people who have pushed me to not only be a better Engineer, but a better person as well. I’ve always been someone who wants to succeed in whatever I do so I naturally hold myself to the highest standards. As I’ve matured I’ve developed the patience and eye to pay attention to small details, which has helped me gain focus on the important things (which really move the needle) in a technical task/challenge. I enjoy writing code, with experience writing in Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Solidity. I also have full stack experience, working with APIs (REST, GraphQL) and Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL). I like to dive into personal coding projects and hackathons to fill in my knowledge gaps and learn new practices. I pride myself on being the hardest worker in the room, taking criticism well and always looking for a push from my mentors/management to strive for more. I enjoy team collaboration and combining strengths for the most efficient path to victory. ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Applications Engineer @ Tesla Jan 2024 – Present | Fremont, California, United States Lead Applications Engineer, supporting worldwide rollout of WMS application. Implemented a new process to further align stakeholders on user bugs/feature enhancements and decrease time to release in production. This new process has since been implemented internally across other application instances. Technical Lead for a service that allows users to more efficiently submit application/support requests without leaving the primary application. This process also supports request submission from different device types (desktop, mobile), saving the user time being the primary goal. This service also reduces the user input, automatically pulling essentially information needed for the request without user intervention/input and directing the request to appropriate teams. This service also integrates with multiple internal Tesla applications thought both Rest API and Kafka. For this service I own requirement gathering from stakeholders, technical requirement translation into JIRA tickets, full stack development (Golang, Python, React/Angular Typescript), testing and deployment. This service has been adopted globally across multiple application instances and intends to transform and streamline the application support process. Gathering issue reports from users and system analysts, documenting the root cause in JIRA, and performing code fixes in Golang and Typescript. ### Software Applications Engineer @ Tesla Jan 2022 – Jan 2024 Software Application Engineer on Factory Software team. This idea came up because I am a hobbyist trader that was tracking everything in excel but knew I could extract more information if I utilized code, plus I am aspiring to move into a developer position next in my career so thought it was a great challenge of my skills. The app has 4 main pages: - Home Page: Contains statistics, charts and graphs in order to get an overall view at your progress, account value, averages etc. - Summary Page: This is where users will add/import, update, delete and export trades - Calendar Page: Users can view their trades in a calendar format, breaking down their pnl on a daily, weekly, monthly total as well as the ability to view a summary of trades taken and closed on each calendar day - Journal Page: a WYSISYG text editor where the user can take notes, add pictures, and reflect on their trading execution/strategy. Bringing the idea of MyTradingTracker as a personal trading journal to a full circle. The Stack is written in: - FE: React (JavaScript) - BE: Flask (Python) - DB: MySQL Some notable tech being used: - Heroku for hosting BE Server - Netlify for hosting FE - CRON Jobs - GitHub for repo and deployment pipeline - GitHub actions for automated testing on releases - MySQL Stored Procedures and Scheduled Events - JWT - Postman for storing API collection - JIRA integration for User Feedback -> Developer ticket creation - Docker for running local environment - Google Charts I could go on and on about this app, it’s features and deployment structure but if you have questions feel free to ask/reach out! ### Host @ Black Box Podcast Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | New York, United States A podcast which focuses on Business, Investing and Entrepreneurship. ### Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach @ Brewster High School Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | Brewster, New York, United States ### Technical Support Engineer @ Thirstie Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | New York, United States Was the Sole TSE on a development team, where I supported a distributed system architecture Full-Stack Web Application.
