# Jonathan Wrobel > Software Engineer Location: Oakland, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jonathanwrobel I am a new software engineer always looking for ways to grow and pursue my new passion for solving problems through code. I care about what I build and I how I build it. Here are some of the things I nerd out for: ► Transforming data into something people can actually use to make decisions ► Technology supporting personal and social evolution through mindful and healthy community ► Coaxing the best out of a team and getting them to produce more than they thought possible ► Finding ways to get as many engineers on my team to dance while they code I'm adding to my original post from when I first got out of Dev Bootcamp years ago. I'm proud that now almost ten years into my career, I can say I still nerd out about the same things. However, in the past years I followed those passions and grew at Omada Health, getting the true pleasure to take on a lot of roles. I've been a manager, product designer/manager, inventor, DevOps leader, disrupter, customer interviewer (I love those), lead architect of our first in class Digital Health Coaching software, as well as the lead in engineer of the Omada Insight Labs, our software empowering the care team and clinical staff to run experiments to identify and surface the interventions that most impact their members. I've mentored, trained, documented, managed late night on call paging fires and the Root Cause Analysis to learn from them. I've made some big mistakes that have left valuable scars of hard earned experience. I've learned from incredible engineers and product leaders and made life long partnerships and friendships that will outlive my time at Omada. I am still driven by Omada Health's sincere and genuine pursuit of the mission to crack the nut of behavior change by leveraging the best of technology, from AI to the most powerful technology of them all, the human relationship. I dream of ways to take our nearly 300 Health Coaches and Diabetes Specialists and enhance the super powers they already have and make them Super Super Powers. Almost 7 years in. I still am motivated by the dream of transforming data into something we can use to support personal and social evolution through mindful and healthy community. I have earned the wisdom that the only way to really make something magical is to coax the best out of a team and get them to produce more than they thought possible. Alas, I have not managed to stay true to all my passions, this week I'm striving to get as many engineers on my team to dance while they code. ## Work Experience ### Staff Engineer @ Omada Health Jan 2022 – Present | San Francisco, California ### Software Engineer @ Omada Health Jan 2017 – Present | San Francisco, California ### Software Engineer @ GreatSchools Jan 2016 – Present | Oakland, CA ### Junior Web Developer @ GreatSchools Jan 2014 – Jan 2016 | Oakland, CA GreatSchools helps 5 million users each month find the right schools for their children ► Full stack development of frontend and backend features in Rails ► Worked on new a CMS for editorial content in PHP/Wordpress ► Front end modular styling in a Bootstrap framework ► TDD with Rspec, Teaspoon, and Moca ► SCRUM agile development and pair programing ► Active member of the Salad Club ### Student @ Dev Bootcamp Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 | San Francisco, CA An intense nine week immersion program where I focused on building the confidence and tools to tackle any new technology needed to deliver a product. ► 1000+ hours of code challenges, pair coding, team projects and engineering empathy ► Built projects in groups in Ruby on Rails, Javascript, Sinatra, AJAX, SQL, HTML5/CSS3, JQuery Active Record, OAuth and Heroku Deployment ► Used Git and Github to create a strong workflow across team projects ► Implemented Test-Driven Development using Rspec, Capybara, and Rack testing ► Developed applications using strong OO principles and MVC design patterns As team lead for the final project I learned invaluable experience on how to get the most out of different personalities and that the success of a project is not based just on the talent in the room, but on how the team comes together. ### Planning and Program Analyst @ City and County of San Francisco Department of Children, Youth, and Their Families Jan 2009 – Jan 2014 | San Francisco, CA The Department of Children, Youth and Families awards policy and funds hundreds of non profit youth and family programs in San Francisco, providing services ranging from afterschool to youth employment to 40 thousand youth each year. ►Acted as technical liaison and manager of online Contract Management System responsible for tracking program performance toward meeting contract goals and disbursing monthly invoices. ► As senior analyst, drafted frequent reports and analysis of department services and funding to inform San Francisco's child and youth policy. ►Developed and provided technical training to hundreds of non-profits funded by city of San Francisco. ### Executive Assistant @ San Francisco Department of Children Youth and Their Families Jan 2006 – Jan 2009 ## Education ### Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics Brown University ### DevBootcamp ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/jonathan-wrobel-aa076258 --- Source: https://flows.cv/jonathanwrobel JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/jonathanwrobel/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-10
