# Jordan D. > Senior Software Engineer at Genentech Location: Somerville, Massachusetts, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jordand1 I am a Senior Software Engineer at Genentech passionate about all things data! I'm interested in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing, and have experience using Python to drive data engineering solutions in multiple different skill areas. My career goal is to leverage my Cognitive Science background in a research-oriented field, where I can use technology to solve problems and make the world a better place. ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Genentech Jan 2023 – Present | South San Francisco, California, United States ### Senior Software Engineer @ Herophilus Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | San Francisco, California, United States I extended and improved internal data collection web application for neuroscience research. To do so, I collaborated with biologists to identify distinct small molecule screening workflows in the lab, designed UI to collect relevant metadata for experiment planning, execution, and analysis. I also designed and migrated database schema in order to integrate with external CDD system to improve how small molecule structure data is captured and communicated to end users, and leveraged cloud-based data pipelines to make experiment planning and execution metadata more accessible for developer users on the analysis team. ### Software Developer @ IBM Jan 2019 – Jan 2022 | Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area I leveraged data science workflows to investigate product performance and potential new features for the Watson Discovery search system, and implemented a backend feature to allow users to improve relevance by promoting specific results for natural language searches. I also implemented a report to provide Watson Assistant customers with feedback about dialogue relevance, migrated and maintained an end-to-end test suite for Analytics feature to ensure reliability during infrastructure updates, and maintained infrastructure supporting machine learning features that are used to improve chatbot dialogue. ### Resident Assistant @ Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Albany, New York Area I was responsible for 56 students living in on-campus apartments - my main role was to facilitate and maintain a positive living community within the residential facilities through individual interactions, organization of group activities, and regular participation in routine activities such as room checks. I worked closely with other student staff members, as well as professional staff. ### Science Ambassador @ Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | Albany, New York Area In order to promote postsecondary education to 4-8th graders, I collaborated with other Science Ambassadors from many different technical fields to design and deliver interactive STEM presentations about subjects including mantis shrimp, traumatic brain injuries, and forensics ### Undergraduate Mentor, Intro to Logic @ Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Albany, New York Area I assisted students in learning and applying course material, by holding regular office hours in which I reviewed course content, provided opportunities for additional skill practice, and directly supported other students with technical issues related to the course. I worked directly with the instructor, as well as with peers, to provide students with feedback about subject mastery. ### Contributing Writer @ College Fashion Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 I contributed regular blog articles about science, sustainability, wellness, and fashion, in order to entertain and educate the blog's audience of college students. I collaborated with other contributors to ensure articles were delivered with a high standard of quality and according to editorial calendar. ### Cognitive Developer Intern @ IBM Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area I collaborated closely with other interns on my team to improve internal tooling for Watson Health Oncology NLP Squad. I was primarily responsible for creating a backend interface to compare accuracy and latency changes across multiple pipeline runs. The tool we built allowed for increased developer productivity by providing a convenient interface to hierarchically investigate pipeline performance. ### Server @ The Gelston House Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Connecticut I worked in a team of employees to serve meals in a fast-paced formal dining environment to provide an optimal dining experience to many customers simultaneously. ### Server/Dishwasher @ Hilltop Barbecue Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Connecticut I maintained a clean and organized kitchen, and worked with other employees to ensure completion of kitchen tasks and closing duties in a timely manner. I worked independently and with other employees to serve breakfast to customers. ### Tutor @ East Haddam School District Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 | Connecticut I assisted peers with completing coursework in classes including Algebra 1, Spanish 2 and 3, Algebra 2, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, and Statistics. ## Education ### B.S in Cognitive Science; Computer Science Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute ### High School Nathan Hale-Ray High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/jordan-daddeo - Website: https://github.com/jordan-daddeo --- Source: https://flows.cv/jordand1 JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/jordand1/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-05
