# Jordan Force > Software Engineer Location: Stamford, Connecticut, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/jordanforce ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Civicom, Inc. Jan 2021 – Present | Port Chester, New York, United States Writing documentation is a major burden on healthcare professionals, especially physical therapists. We are creating a tool called ScribePT, which automates the process of creating physical therapy documentation (SOAP notes), based on a recording of the session between the PT and patient. It is built on AWS, and uses Lambda, Cloudformation, ECS, DynamoDB, and Cognito, and is mostly written in Python and Javascript. I've contributed to nearly every facet of development: designing the cloud infrastructure, writing the code for the backend, front end, and our browser extension, as well as engineering the LLM prompts that actually generate the note. I've worked with Claude, Llama-2 and MPT-7B/30B. I also regularly collect and integrate feedback from the physical therapists that use our software. ### Research Assistant @ University of Connecticut Jan 2017 – Jan 2022 A major area of study in immunology is the specificity of MHC-I alleles. In my research, I worked to combine machine learning tools that predict MHC-I-Peptide binding with mass spectrometry database search tools, which match the spectral data generated by LC-MS/MS experiments with peptides in the relevant proteome. This culminated in the masters thesis: " Using Machine Learning to Improve the Detection of MHC-I Presented Peptides" (which can be viewed at: https://ctdigitalarchive.org/islandora/object/20002%3A860706848) ### Teaching Assistant @ University of Connecticut Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 Teaching assistant for Systems Programming, a course about C programming and Linux. Taught lab sections and did grading. ### Teaching Assistant @ University of Connecticut Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 TA'd Systems Programming, a course about Linux and C programming. Taught two lab sections and graded. ### Software Development Intern @ Gartner Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Stamford CT Wrote software in Python to parse weblogs, and extract key information, to run on AWS lambda. It would detect which column held date/time of the request, the source IP address, and the target. It would detect the date/time format, and even detect if this format changed during the course of logging. Wrote performance critical sections in C++. ### Software Development Intern @ Gartner Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Stamford CT Customized Alfresco, an Enterprise Content Management System. I diagnosed and investigated several bugs in Alfresco, and added new features. The most significant bug I investigated was that Alfresco wouldn't alert all relevant users when a file was changed. After weeks of investigation, I discovered that this was because when the file was changed, a row would be added to a table. Then, another process would come along, remove the row from the table, and insert a row for each user to be alerted into an alerts table. If a user had too many unread notifications, the row for them wouldn't be created, so this notification would essentially be dropped for them. ### Software Engineer Intern @ Biomass Controls PBC Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 In this internship, I completed two main tasks: 1) Fix the fact that our data graphing website would cause extremely high memory usage due to the sheer number of data points. I created an algorithm in PHP that was able to remove most of these datapoints, while ensuring that the linear interpolation created by the graphing package was a good approximation to the original data 2) I wrote software to update the firmware on a PIC microcontroller from a Raspberry PI. I originally wrote this in C, but then rewrote it in Python. ### Computer Programmer @ Schwartz Lab Jan 2012 – Jan 2015 Wrote software for extracting motifs from phosphorylation data. ## Education ### Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering University of Connecticut ### Masters in Computer Science and Engineering University of Connecticut ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/jordanforce --- Source: https://flows.cv/jordanforce JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/jordanforce/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
