I love problem-solving and working as part of a team and am passionate, creative and tenacious in everything I do. Hobbies include hiking, running, dancing, movie watching, cooking, eating curry, YouTube, and screenplay writing! ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Gridware Jan 2024 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area ### Software Engineer @ Sofar Ocean Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | San Francisco, California, United States ### Software Tech Lead @ Skydio Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | San Mateo, California, United States I joined Skydio as part of a 3-person team managing the company's rapidly growing manufacturing and test systems. As Skydio’s growth has continued to accelerate over the past 2 years, I have supported the bringup of 5+ new product lines, all with unique testing requirements. In early 2022, I was promoted to Tech Lead, a role in which I continue to drive the Manufacturing Software team's planning and execution of both short- and long-term projects. I also serve as the point-person for the team and bridge manufacturing with the rest of the software organization. Specific responsibilities and accomplishments have included: • Developed, tested, and deployed numerous new hardware tests to support the assembly of the X2, Skydio’s newest enterprise-focused vehicles. • Built out Skydio's proprietary MES system, with both backend infrastructure and frontend overhauls, to support the ever-growing product suite. • Provided daily software support and troubleshooting to unblock the manufacturing line and pinpoint hardware defects, often working across multiple software teams at the company to debug with and learn from the experts. • Built out an integration between the MES system and Skydio's ERP and inventory management services to reduce overhead in manufacturing processes and improve traceability. • Grew my skills in Python, TypeScript, React, Redux and C through multiple large projects and refactors targeted at expanding manufacturing test coverage, identifying gaps in our processes and improving user experience. • Worked closely with DevOps & Infrastructure engineers to improve stability and bridge the gap between development and operations, with the goal of streamlining workflows, automating deployments, and ensuring scalable and reliable software solutions. ### Software Engineer @ Skydio Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | Redwood City, California, United States ### Computer Science Department Teaching Assistant @ Tufts University Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Medford, MA Grading student projects and holding multiple weekly office hours to assist students ### Engineering Department Teaching Assistant @ Tufts University Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | Medford, MA Grading homework assignments and tests and aiding students in their studies ### Data Analyst @ Apolitical Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | London, United Kingdom Summer intern for the data and engineering teams at apolitical.co, a global network for government helping public servants find the ideas, people, and partners they need to solve the hardest challenges facing our societies. Worked in SQL, Python, and JavaScript in Google BigQuery, DataStudio, and Colab running data queries and analyses; built a machine learning program that uses Bayesian optimization and natural language processing to classify articles based on content; explored techniques for AB testing and analyzing user engagement; wrote numerous unit tests to help support and maintain complex programs and libraries. ### Scholar at the RDV Academy @ Rough Draft Ventures Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 ### Events Database Analyst @ Kensho Technologies Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Cambridge, MA Kensho Technologies is a pioneering fintech startup specializing in AI and machine learning technologies. The company serves the financial, healthcare, and national security sectors by offering a state-of-the-art events database for investor analysis to its clients. Kensho investors include Google Ventures, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley At Kensho, I was responsible for curating and developing one of the world's largest proprietary events-based datasets. This involved research and continuous monitoring of major players in the technology sector, as well as financial, economic, and geopolitical market-moving news. I worked with the Events and Graph teams to expand our database while also improving data quality, identifying issues and bugs, and finding ways to automate our data collection, primarily through writing various scripts in Python and GraphQL. Finally, I helped to manage incoming client and internal requests to help investors get the information they needed as easily as possible. ### Mathematics Department Teaching Assistant @ Tufts University Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Medford, MA Grading homework and offering outside help and tutoring ### Engineering Intern @ Williams International Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Commerce Township, Mi I began my time with Williams assisting in preparing materials for beginner to advanced level physics courses relating to the design and production of jet engines. I then worked on flow analyses through compressor blades using the APNASA Linux software. After learning some basic Objective-C online, I was able to add nested parallelism using OpenMP into the FlowFastCF code created by Williams engineers, significantly increasing the computational speed of the routines. I then worked in Creo Pro/Engineering modeling and transferring data to Windchill and Teamcenter and used Compressor Design System software to study the effects of scaling on the Williams FJ44-3A compressor blades. ### Summer Intern @ PlaneSense, Inc. Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Portsmouth, NH During my time with PlaneSense I worked in HR, marketing, sales, and legal organizing and sorting data and paperwork. I also had the opportunity to perform flight data transfers in the Flight Operations Center. Seeing the inner workings of the other side of the aerospace engineering process, the consumers of the products I one day hope to design was an invaluable experience and I am so grateful to the entire PlaneSense team for welcoming me. ### Summer Intern @ Veryst Engineering, LLC Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 Arriving at Veryst in June, I immediately was put to work learning the multiphysics simulation program Comsol. I later used Comsol to run multiple fluid flow and heat transfer analyses. I then learned the solid modeling program SolidWorks, which I used for the remainder of my time there, constructing various devices and machines for failure analysis or for use on Veryst's website. I continue to use SolidWorks, and have created multiple models for 3D printing. ## Education ### Bachelor’s Degree in Double Major in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering Tufts University ### High School Concord Academy ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/jordanlueck --- Source: https://flows.cv/jordanlueck JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/jordanlueck/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-01
