Claudy Jongstra is noted for her innovative use of felting to create gigantic architectural installations using naturally dyed wool and silk. My role included dyeing and preparing materials for felting, experimenting with combinations of clay and wool, assisting with the assembly of felted pieces, creating maquettes, photographing and installing pieces, and assisting with exhibition design. ### Teaching Assistant - Spatial Design @ Simon Fraser University Jan 2012 – Jan 2012 | Surrey, BC Working as a Teaching Assistant for IAT 233 - Spatial Design gave me the wonderful opportunity to be involved firsthand in the mentorship and growth of 100 students. We introduced students to spatial design through a range of lenses, from constructivist graphic design to urbanists like Jan Gehl. This position was the most rewarding position I have ever held. I worked directly with students to help them understand the basics of graphic design, leading into art direction for magazine layouts (both type and photography), up to the research on, and proposal of, new urban spaces.
