Led company's technical direction as the lead architect. Founded an architecture working group of volunteers to establish and propagate scalable patterns, foundations, and frameworks for the rest of the company.  Established and led recurring weekly engineering review sessions to share knowledge and align discrete and remote teams. Introduced several foundational systems powering multiple product launches including:

1. Enriched row-level CDC system powered by Kafka to facilitate a transition to event-based architecture.
2. A synchronization platform for pushing data to customer integrations in real-time.
3. GraphQL API from generated code for rapid API development and better full-stack developer experience.

YC backed startup acquired by Silo in May 2022. We used bandit algorithms to help companies like Namecheap, Leon & George, and Fellow Coffee with product recommendations and promotion optimization.

### Staff Software Engineer @ Uber

Managed a lean team to design & devel. a distributed platform for calculating multi-party billing in real-time used by ride-sharing (Rides), food delivery (Eats), flights (Elevate), and freight shipping (Freight).

Co-founded a cross-org. group to standardize billing data structures internationally and across lines of business that reduced the time-to-launch from months to days.

Organized a streamlined process for approving engineering design requests by developing internal tooling to manage incoming documents, stakeholders, and assigning a rotation of approvers; reduced time-to-approval for new designs from >month to <week.

### Senior Software Engineer @ Uber

Redesigned the launch process for ridesharing upfront fare quotes to reduce time-to-launch in a new city from 1 city / week to hundreds of cities per day.

Prototyped a design for a service that allowed for dynamic runtime changes per-fare from external systems while maintaining an audit trail using an RPC plugin architecture.  Design was motivated by growing bottlenecks and outages from multiple teams sharing hot code paths.  Gathered feedback from stakeholder teams for revisions and gain support to develop the solution as a platform.

### Software Engineer II @ Uber

Prototyped a variable resolution hexagonal geospatial grid to shard real-time demand and supply aggregation for dynamic pricing calculation.  A hexagonal indexing grid offered the same performance characteristics as geo-hashing, while also offering a more uniform "area under the cell" distribution, less geographic distortion when rendering cells to a 2D map projection, and a compact index byte size.
