Designed and implemented systems to address Discord application performance. Conceptualized and implemented automated smoke tests, implemented performance monitoring strategies, verified audio/visual (AV) stack, and developed visualizer for real time AV metrics. Acted as staff engineer, identifying and pursuing issues to full resolution across divisions.
•Researched and led development on hook-free game overlay which dramatically increased performance and compatibility, using an indepth knowledge of Windows API.
•Accelerated development and identified numerous existing bugs by converting large portion of existing codebase to TypeScript.
•Enabled earlier detection of crashes and performance regressions by creating and logging actionable metrics throughout the software stack.
•Played key role in Discord’s 2024 efforts by conceptualizing and authoring monitoring system to gather user performance data.
