## Work Experience
### Senior Software Engineer @ Discord
Jan 2020 – Jan 2024
Designed and implemented systems to address Discord application performance. Conceptualized and implemented automated smoke tests, implemented performance monitoring strategies, verified audio/visual (AV) stack, and developed visualizer for real time AV metrics. Acted as staff engineer, identifying and pursuing issues to full resolution across divisions.

- Researched and led development on hook-free game overlay which dramatically increased performance and compatibility, using an indepth knowledge of Windows API.
- Accelerated development and identified numerous existing bugs by converting large portion of existing codebase to TypeScript.
- Enabled earlier detection of crashes and performance regressions by creating and logging actionable metrics throughout the software stack.
- Played key role in Discord’s 2024 efforts by conceptualizing and authoring monitoring system to gather user performance data.
- Saved $200K in annual bandwidth costs by pinpointing caching and unused data issue.

### Senior Software Engineer @ Mobile Labs
Jan 2013 – Jan 2019
Implemented remote mobile device access and automated testing, reverse-engineering for interoperability of undocumented protocols and systems. Integrated with and ultimate rebuilt Appium to create web-based remote mobile device access tool for on-site device cloud.

- Rolled out Appium mobile device automation testing support. Implemented data gathering, storage, and analysis functions for customer analytics and device vitals.
- Overhauled entire code base on multiple occasions, working independently to leverage unique ability to store and adjust mental model over series of strategic changes.
- Enabled iOS/Android interoperability by reverse-engineering binary file formats and protocols.
- Invented new method of real-time web audio support.
