Mobile Phone Development Engineering for iDEN
Managed multiple CMF projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and on-time delivery. Shipping eight phones as lead in less than two year timeframe. Traveled to China to resolve supplier, manufacturing, tooling design, and part design issues to increase speed to production. Generated quality Pro/E databases for seamless use by downstream customers (simulation, prototyping, vendors, tooling) while utilizing Product Data Management via Windchill and Six Sigma tools. Validated critical fit, form, and function dimensions prior to each build. Identify non-conformances and offer solutions to rectify issues prior to builds. Designed the following: battery door assembly, including injection molded plastic, electroformed bezel, graphite heat spreader thermal solution, main PCB on product i1, shields, SIM card holder, Main, GPS, BT antennas on several proprietary mobile devices, which involved design of sheet metals and flexible circuits. Championed accelerated life testing (ALT) and design verification testing (DVT), ensuring high quality product for mass production.
