I worked with artist William Russel Pensyl to develop an installation using 24 actual traffic lights, with software that detects emotion states of viewers within the space. The individual lights display a series of patterns that range from all red to all yellow to all green, with varying states in between based on the emotion of the viewers observing it. I wrote the code in python for this project and used Microsoft's Azure API to recognize emotion and then created an algorithim that updated the Traffic Light Display.
