I worked on Twilio Video (https://www.twilio.com/video) backend and cross-platform C++ core (uses WebRTC) that powered our real-time voice and video SDKs for iOS and Android.

I worked on multiple aspects of Twilio Voice Client (https://www.twilio.com/client), including signaling servers, media servers and iOS/JavaScript SDKs. Tracked down various bugs in WebRTC and implemented workarounds.

Architect and team lead of WebRTC gateway, enabling browser to place call to standard-based SIP or H.323 endpoints. The gateway embeds H.239 presentation to the main video stream, handles DTMF and uses secure media. It transcodes Opus audio and VP8 video between the browser and third-party endpoint. Developed lightweight signaling protocol between browser and gateway using WebSockets. Deployed geographically distributed redundant servers.

Architect and team lead of a solution providing interoperability between Microsoft Lync and third-party software and hardware endpoints. Worked on both media and signaling components such as provisioning, NTLM authentication, presence, SDP handling, call escalation, media control, etc. Video is efficiently transformed between H.264/AVC and Scalable Video Coding (SVC) without transcoding. Developed solution is part of LifeSize UVC platform.

I have worked on various areas of Flash Player and Adobe Connect with emphasis on both real-time communications and video streaming. I worked on several features such as Speex codec, media analytics, acoustics echo cancellation, H.264 encoding and decoding, etc. I am involved in all phases of feature development starting from prototyping, feature specifications, implementation, code review, bug fixing and support.

I have investigated and resolved issues on both mobile and desktop platforms and often worked with customers to troubleshot problems.

I have authored several developer connection articles and patents. Products shipped: Flash Player 10 and 11 and Adobe Connect.

As the principal member of the core engineering team, I was involved in virtually all layers of CounterPath’s communications software, ranging from low level protocol and audio/video transport to top level skinned user interface. I was the lead engineer of Bria VoIP communications software. I have designed software architecture and was responsible for major technical decisions. I have advised in hiring decisions, prepared estimates and provided guidance for team members.
