# Jules Tamagnan > Software Engineer at Render Location: El Cerrito, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/julestamagnan I am a Software engineer with a passion for developer productivity, and creating robust tools for those around me. My journey through the industry started at the Yale school of public health where I focused on the intersection between applied mathematics and software development. At that time I realized that to become the best software developer I could be I needed to adventure out west and surround myself with other excellent engineers. That is when I joined Delphix as a member of technical staff. My time at Delphix started with with typical coding, however I found myself creating and sharing tools to make my job easier and faster. A year into this position the tools I was creating and the ways that I was able to improve the workflows of my peers became apparent. That is when I joined the newly created Quality Infrastructure team as the sole developer. As the lead engineer on the QI team I continued to optimize the systems that the engineers around me used. As a member of this team I was given the freedom to improve innumerable workflows but the work that I did in overhauling Delphix's end-to-end test framework remains a key piece of this time for me. With a strong desire for faster feedback and an overall shift left, I overhauled our end-to-end test framework to support running reproducible tests on local machines as well as remotely, allowing developers to iterate more quickly locally. I then continued the overhaul to support a migration from Python 2 to Python 3. Once the groundwork was set for the transition I rallied members of the organization with buy in from upper managment and led a full transition to Python 3. This involved a high degree of coordination and leadership across many functional teams. It is around this time that a company restructure led to Delphix's DevOps team fusing with the QI team. As a part of this team I continued with many of my previous endeavors but was also given the opportunity to lead a company wide migration from our outdated and self hosted GitLab server to GitHub's SaaS offering. Once again I laid the groundwork for a company wide transition while coordinating with the security team to migrate the entire company, its 300+ engineers, and its 300+ repositories to GitHub SaaS. The following months of cross-team coordination and leadership ensured that no teams missed any releases or deadlines as we shifted our entire SCM platform and CI/CD pipelines. My time at Delphix ended as a Senior Staff Engineer developing and leading the creation of a new secure CI/CD system for our first ever Microsoft Azure offering. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Render Jan 2025 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area ### Senior Staff Software Engineer @ Delphix Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | San Francisco Bay Area • Led development of a full CI/CD solution for Delphix's first Azure offering.
