I had the extraordinary privilege to observe and assist in various medical procedures, including scrubbing into surgeries such as gastric sleeve operations and stent placements. This allowed me to witness firsthand the intricate process of surgery and the importance of precise teamwork in the operating room. In addition to these experiences, I was involved in direct patient care in an outpatient setting. This crucial aspect of my internship allowed me to develop key patient communication skills, understand the patient journey, and gain a deeper appreciation for holistic patient care. Complementing these clinical experiences, I had the chance to delve into medical research by being assigned a research project about aortic stenosis. Over the course of the program, I was guided in conducting my own research, culminating in a presentation to my peers, residents, and mentors, thus sharpening my analytical and presentation skills.
