My name is Julia Lo, I have Mechanical Engineering and Design degree from Northeastern University.  

As a Product Design Mechanical Engineer, I enjoy combining the creative freedoms of art and problem solving into real world applications. I find value in personalization and truly believe that designing around user experience results significantly enhances a products value. ​

Through my professional experience at Verkada, I have developed technical PD skills including DFM, tolerance analysis, 2D/3D modeling, and working in cross functional teams. Additionally, my role at Desktop Metal has provided me with hands on experience with DOE conceptualization, material testing, and machine shop experience. ​

I am looking for my next role in product design and excited to see what we products we create together in the future!

Colorado/Boston custom shoes started in 2020 at the peak of COVID. During quarantine, I painted a few pairs of sneakers of my own and posted them online. A couple of friends expressed their interest in getting their shoes painted. I started painting shoes for my friends for $25 a pair. As the instagram grew, more people expressed their interest in getting their shoes customized and the business grew. Majority of the products are commissioned and hand painted. All advertising is currently done through instagram. Some of the products now sell for as much as $350 a pair. I hope to expand my abilities in the future and be able to increase the amount of orders I am able to take without sacrificing the quality.
