Part of the team modernizing the Employer Engineering infrastructure at ZipRecruiter for internal use, enabling teams to iterate quicker on produce decisions.
Employer/SMB - Proactive Sourcing (Resume Database) Tech Lead (December 2024-Present)
Leading the team that is rethinking Zip's approach to the art of Proactive Sourcing, mainly focused on tech stability and flexibility under increasing usage and continuous improvements.
Overseeing the team of 10 full-stack engineers responsible for all job applications (including internal and external) at ZipRecruiter. Additionally own all Apply data infrastructure and insights.
This includes regular 1:1s around personal and professional growth, bi-yearly performance reviews, and promotion submissions.
Team KRs based on organizational objectives, following the OKR model.
Proliferating tech initiatives, both intra- and extra-team.
Oversight of general app health and maintenance, as well as new feature design and development.
Partnership with product to identify key features and improvements to pursue while balancing tech initiatives and maintenance/QoL improvements.
Participating in the tech interview process to help Zip identify, assess and attract key engineering talent.
Steward for the Management Book Club, a group for people managers and interested individuals to read and discuss books as they relate to people managing.

Contributing key features to strategic ZipRecruiter Job Seeker products utilizing Java J2EE/Groovy and GCP/AWS as we expand a novel greenfield project. On the leadership side, spend a considerable amount of time working on product guidance and direction as we expand capabilities/features to more intricate areas. Additional responsibilities include onboarding new team members and providing code review/feedback as well as mentoring junior engineers.
Outside of team responsibilities, also part of the interview process helping to assess and level candidates for the engineering organization across all levels.
