* Designed and developed a prototype for a distributed risk calculation system in Java which uses Akka actors to distribute tasks to a server farm. This involved understanding the existing multi-component system to avoid its pitfalls and evaluating various open source and in-house solutions to choose the right frameworks and tools for our use case and building it from scratch.
* Worked on the domain model and query layer for a strategic risk management system for calculating issuer risk across the entire firm. 
* Led multiple iterations of quick prototyping and quantifying the implications of design decisions and guided two new joiners in the team during the development of above system.
* Implemented a process to share risk reports with other divisions which involved interfacing with business.

*Worked on the implementation of a meta-heuristic search algorithm called Tabu search for solving NP-Hard combinatorial optimization problems in the area of workforce scheduling. The solution improved the objective function value by 75% over existing local search.
* Designed and developed a middle layer of RESTful web services using Groovy/MongoDB for exposing said model. This included API design and end-to-end testing of the application.
* Implemented mathematical models for mitigating demand uncertainty in inventory management by collaborating with econometricians. This includes news vendor model for new product launch and enhancements to handle constraints like budget and minimum order quantity.
* Database design for said applications.
* Designed and developed Java RESTful web services to parse, cleanse and feed to database files uploaded by users.
