My name is Karan Dhir and I'm a software engineer at SpaceX working on manufacturing software for Starship, Starlink, and Falcon! I also recently graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics. I've also been privileged enough to gain experience at companies like Google and Uber through internships throughout college. I specialize in full-stack development (although I have experience with infrastructural development in Kubernetes and distributed systems like Kafka), but like to keep myself flexible and open to opportunities to grow as a developer and person. I'd like to believe that I can adapt to the technology as long as I have passion for the idea behind it! Some of the things I'm passionate about using technology for are applications that have a large impact on society. For example, I did front-end web development for eCode at Berkeley to help promote environmental initiatives. I was also a Project Manager for PlexTech and worked on a dashboard for public safety agencies to use data better understand their roles and success as first responders. Besides tech, I enjoy teaching, both as an Academic Intern for CS10: Beauty and Joy of Computing and as a tutor for high school students at Crimson Education.
