In this role I successfully completed a UX research project to deliver insights on People Over Plastic's target audience. AfroRooted began first from Karla "Karlita" Flores and Lilian Maxmillian Nabaggala connecting from the Hip Hop diplomacy network, Next Level, in Kampala, Uganda. Connecting through the underground disco club dance, waacking, both continued their friendship from these mixed traditional and freestyle movements. AfroRooted is a community driven focused project and festival to highlight the similarities between freestyle/ street dances to traditional African Diasporic movements. The annual festival incorporates dance battles, workshops and panel discussions opened to the Bay Area.
