I'm passionate about building interactive experiences that convey meaningful & easy to understand stories. I combine an understanding of all the key motivations involved in product building from end user motivations to business goals to engineering constraints.
As the startup team's only design hire my focus was on creating engaging 3D creation experiences for young minds. I visualized mood & style concepts, created interaction flows, product principles, design system patterns, motion mocks, visual language directions, provided early eng build support and led our team through weekly creative discussion & critique.
I led and managed a 5-7 person UX team spanning a range of AR Experiences for emerging glasses form factors. My team designed, prototyped and collaborated with PM, Research & Engineering partners to build & test experiences for a variety of use cases. I led the VR design for Google Blocks, a simple VR 3D modeling tool. I also served as the design manager for Poly, Google's repository of 3D assets.
A founding member of the team that launched Jamboard, a digital whiteboard G Suite product. I developed much of the core product experience and eventually managed the design team. My focus was on the overall user experience from larger cross platform design patterns to small micro animations. Product excellence was a big focus of my work. Examples included managing a diverse team of high performing designers through a public launch, designing an animated particle brush stroke system and building cross device multiuser UX flows.
As one of the first motion designers hired at Google I helped push motion design as a primary part of Google's design language. I started by shipping motion touches within Google+ web & mobile products and later went on to influence early Material design motion language. I developed an internal After Effects motion export tool called Butterfly, similar to what we have today with Lottie. This was used by dozens of major product teams across Google.
