Graduating from the University of Washington in 2020, my academic training began in neuroscience. My 6 years of laboratory experience span Social Cognitive Development, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Dopamine Systems, and Electrophysiology. Most recently, while at the Loren Frank Lab, I worked on a project analyzing population activity of place cells in the rat hippocampus. Using computational modeling, we detected and potentially modified the recall of complex mental representations.

Using software, we were studying the underpinnings of perception, and I realized that technology permitted revolutionary insight into experience and quality of life. As a second-year Computer Science Master’s student (graduating in December), I now have a strong foundation in full stack development. In my current role as a software engineering intern at Kommu, a home sharing startup, I work with other engineers and product managers in an Agile startup environment. My current project is building a client-facing web portal from scratch in React. In addition to frontend work, I’ve also built backend systems including a travel website with a database and full backend functionality. I am proficient in a variety of languages, having created a Unit Testing Framework in Java modeling J-Unit and constructed a file system in C. My current passion project is an app that utilizes vibration therapy to help treat ADD and Autism Spectrum Disorders. I hope to combine my paths in a collaborative environment where software meets humanity.
