Initiated and led a joint effort between design and development teams to establish a design system, improving product consistency and efficiency of developer handoffs.

MyShake - Earthquake Early Warning Mobile App

Led a redesign of MyShake, California’s official ShakeAlert earthquake early warning app. Downloads increased by 240% after the redesigned app was released.

Researched and communicated user needs, gaining buy-in from project leaders to invest in user-centered design.

Designed a new method for sourcing and visualizing earthquake experiences, leading to increased engagement and more than 57,000 user experiences shared to date.

Delivered specs, prototypes, style guidelines, graphics, and product strategy.

Wrote a peer-reviewed paper published in Frontiers Journal. It was one of the first papers to investigate the intersection of human-centered design and citizen science.
