Key achievements in this role include: • New features such as gap removal, rectangular selection, and cropping. Each increased user activation, retention, and satisfaction. • Championed observational user testing to identify and resolve usability issues. The resulting improvements contributed to the highest user activation rate in over 2 years. • Accessibility improvements that helped Clipchamp to become one of the first web-based video editors to enable users to edit on the timeline with their keyboard. • Pioneered interaction patterns that became standards and were adopted by other video editing products in the market. ### Product Designer @ Clipchamp Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | Brisbane, Australia As the first in-house designer, I worked across multiple teams designing new features and improving the user experience of the Clipchamp desktop app. • Designed many features that improved the video creation and editing experience including recording tools, the ability to replace media, freehand editing, and various timeline interactions. • Improved the onboarding experience of the editor. • Lead the design of collaboration features, enabling users to work together in Clipchamp for the first time. • Redesigned the app navigation, information architecture, and upgrade flow to allow for team subscriptions. Clipchamp was acquired by Microsoft in 2021. ### Design Engineer @ Tanda: #1 Workforce Success Platform Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 | Brisbane, Australia After starting as an intern, I progressed to the Core Product and then the Growth team designing and developing new features and experiences across the Tanda product suite. In the Core Product team, I undertook various projects that improved the user experience of the desktop and time clock applications, including redesigning the processes for creating allowances and award rules that allow customers to pay their staff correctly. In the Growth team, I was responsible for creating the onboarding experience and improving user activation.
