I have experience in various roles such as People Manager, Tech Lead, and Individual Contributor. In my previous job, I drove the technical direction for UX/UI and delivered strategies and solutions to solve challenging problems in the industry.

I built processes and tools using Akamai and Kubernetes, set up git branching strategies for releases, demos, and prototypes across teams, and integrated applications with OpsGenie and Splunk. I also analyzed monitoring tools like Sailboat, Sentry, and Google Tag Manager.

I sent out proposals and metrics to stakeholders and team members, migrated from a deprecated Webpack bootstrap to a self-built Webpack, and then migrated to a handwritten ViteJS build. I also migrated to esBuild to reduce build time and production bundle sizes, resulting in a reduced bundle footprint on production.

To improve developer experiences, I introduced standards for other engineers to follow, such as micro-front end, W3C standards, and JS fundamental, and introduced TypeScript as a medium to accelerate this goal cross-functionally at the beginning. I also enforced coding standards to help engineers learn and improve quality, resulting in engineers across the organization delivering implementations 2x times faster and reducing bug rates on production tremendously.

I introduced GraphQL federation architecture and executed it to sustain a mono-repo that acts as an aggregator for all Tesla Energy data. I fixed existing n+1 issues with federation (micro-services). As a result, Tesla Energy was able to scale down from n+1 pods to 3 pods with auto-scaling and multi-DC, reducing downtime from 20+ outages weekly to 1-2 deploy restarts weekly.

I set up a Design Pattern for the Tesla Design System for Enterprise and a framework that allows internal users to prototype with the Design System.

Manage an amazing team of Design Technologists(DT) and drive innovative solutions for Indeed Products.

There are 2 types of projects:

Experimental

Communicate with different business partners, then work with UX members, researchers, designers and product owners to discover explorational needs. Plan out the timeline, technologies, and DT resources to develop prototypes for user testing and eventually for engineering team

Business Oriented

Embed DTs to follow each production team sprints, and roll out experimental features for A/B testing on a weekly basis. After A/B testing, work with the product teams and collaborate with the engineering team to planning out refinements, deliverables, and deployment strategies.

What have I been doing:

• Inherited a team of 3 DTs, then on-boarded 3 extra DTs in San Francisco

• Successfully attracted and hired 2 DTs in San Francisco

• Embedded 2 DTs and 2 Designers to roll out a new Design System (DS) and its website (DSW)

• Embedded 1 DT to implement DS Components for Indeed Inbox - https://inbox.indeed.com/messages

• Embedded 2 DTs into Job Alert and Email team to deliver DS Refinements and A/B testing.

• Collaborated with Mutual Engagement teams to develop prototypes, to experiment new Communication Experiences in-between Job seeker and Employer (MSG)

• Conduced DSW/MSG User Testing , worked with the Engineering teams for staffing and DT resources.
