### Back End Software Engineer | APEX @ Personal Projects
Jan 2022 – Jan 2022
- Built scalable backend system with initial throughput of 6,000 RPM and optimized to 360,000 RPM, a 600% increase
- Increased system load and available for users by horizontally scaling service layer with an NGINX load balancer 
- Identified system bottlenecks using Loader.io and K6
- Implemented NGINX caching on most commonly searched queries to increase performance from 360,000 RPM to 450,000 RPM with latency decreasing from 100ms to under 50ms

- Utilized Material UI for responsive design to handle users with varying devices and screen sizes

- Integrated third-party RESTful API for receiving, storing, and rendering live data
- Leveraged Material UI and React Elastic Carousel for dynamic and responsive list carousel, anime detail cards, and weekly anime calendar
