# Kevin (Kyungmin) Cho > Data Engineering at Moloco Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/kevinkyungmincho While a graduate student at KAIST in Korea, I worked on a hierarchical context monitoring and composition framework which combines the extensively broad spectrum of contexts, from personal to worldwide in scale, and from crude to highly-processed in terms of complexity. To compose global contexts from continuously generated sensor data, I proposed a novel Internet-based sensing data delivery infrastructure called SATI (scalable and traffic-efficient data delivery infrastructure) that provides a common platform for data providers and consumers. To satisfy a large number of delivery requests of high diversity, I provided a path management scheme and proved its high level of scalability and bandwidth efficiency. During studying at KAIST, I also developed "Exertainer." It is a system designed to complement physical exercise and exercise applications to provide sensor-enabled and an interactive running entertainment system. Its interface was intuitive, involved realistic feedback, and facilitated the use of various other complementary applications. At LG, I have expanded my knowledge and R&D experience into mobile technologies. Especially, I worked on various camera-based applications and functions running on smartphone and watch devices. I developed dual camera and dual recording. They enable a user to capture and record using the front and rear-facing cameras simultaneously. I also developed Tracking Zoom, Smart Screen, Remote Shutter, etc. [Specialties] Technical Background: Context monitoring & aggregation, Sensor data delivery and data stream management, Camera technologies, Pervasive interactive games technologies Programming Languages: Java, Python, React Native, C/C++, PHP, JSP, JavaScript, HTML, XML, Shell script Tools: Android Studio, Eclipse, Git, Visual Studio, Matlab, Mathematica Graphics: OpenGL Operating Systems: Android, Android Wear, iOS, Linux, UNIX, Windows ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ Moloco Jan 2024 – Present | Redwood City, California, United States ### Senior Software Engineer @ Moloco Jan 2021 – Jan 2024 | Redwood City, California, United States ### Software Engineer @ Moloco Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | Redwood City, California, United States ### Senior Software Engineer @ Fronto Mobile Labs Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area - Designed and developed Fronto lock screen SDK from the scratch to support various lock screen apps running on Android devices - Designed and developed a flexible and extensible view container that can accommodate diverse contents and ads types provided by different news services, content providers, and ad networks - Integrated +15 ad networks into Fronto while handling various ad formats including native, banner, interstitial formats - Designed and developed various new interesting features to increase user retention rate - Re-implemented Fronto redeem store using React Native while applying new UI design Integrated tracking and attribution tools such as Mixpanel, Adjust, etc. ### Software Engineer @ NBT Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 ### Software Engineer @ LG Electronics Jan 2010 – Jan 2015 - Explored innovative smartphone applications and functions that are enabled or facilitated on Android new camera subsystem (Google released the new camera2 API to facilitate fine-grain photo capture and image processing in Android 5.0) - Developed an Android Wear application called “Remote Shutter” running on Android Wear watches. It enables a user to take a picture through a camera application running on his/her smartphone. This feature was included in G Watch and G Watch R released in Jun. 2014 and Oct. 2014, respectively. - Developed “Tracking Zoom” which lets a user to create unique videos with a picture-in-picture frame. This feature zooms in on the moving subject selected by the user. It is included in LG G2 launched in Aug. 2013. (Feb. 2013 - Aug. 2013) - Developed “Smart Video” which intelligently recognizes the position of a user’s eyes, automatically pausing the video when the user looks away and then restarting it once they resume active viewing. Smart Video is included in Optimus G Pro value pack launched in Apr. 2013. (Feb. 2013 – Aug. 2013) - Developed “Dual Camera”, an extension of Dual Recording feature, lets users simultaneously capture photos of the subject and the shooter using the both front and rear cameras. This function is included in Optimus G Pro value pack launched in Apr. 2013. (Sep. 2012 – Apr. 2013) (*Interview: http://social.lge.co.kr/view/the_bloger/optimusgpro_interview/) - Developed “Dual Recording” which is the world's first camera function and unique selling point of Optimus G pro launched in Feb. 2013. (Sep. 2012 – Feb. 2013) - Developed “Smart Screen” which automatically extends screen timeout just by recognizing human faces & eyes (Apr. 2012 – Sep. 2012) - Developed a S3D camera application which is the key feature of the LG smartphone "Optimus 3D" (Thrill 4G from ATT), the world’s 1st S3D smartphone (Feb. 2011 - Nov. 2011) ## Education ### Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology ### Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology ### Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology ### Daegu Science High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/kevinkmincho --- Source: https://flows.cv/kevinkyungmincho JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/kevinkyungmincho/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-31
