I am a software engineer with depth of experience in developing scalable, maintainable, and extensible platforms. My interests include distributed systems, machine learning, and processing big data. In addition to technical skills with modern tech stacks that include Kotlin, Go, Python, Mongo, SQL, Kafka, and more, I love to engage with people whether that is mentoring and fostering growth in fellow engineers, driving long term vision discussions with product, or growing an organization through thoughtful interviewing processes.

Outside of technical interests, I am hugely interested in education. I have years of experience volunteer teaching in various K-12 settings, and will never turn down an opportunity to discuss how our education system and pedagogical practices can better improve to help society.

Backend developer on Ecosystem team owning sources of truth for member, provider, and various other forms of data models. Working on projects such as building a unified document ingestion system for processing files in sizes of > 200MB, building an error report file generation worker, and feature support for company's first international product offerings/customers.

Backend developer on Conversations Platform team, working on a high volume high reliability distributed email relay system that processes and sends in excess of 10 million messages a day. Worked on a variety of projects including building out API keys/rate limiting, containerizing key services on an Apache Mesos cluster, refactoring out a high risk bottleneck in our content rendering service, and leading long-term design for source of truth service for future Instant Messaging product.

### Software Development Engineer Intern @ Amazon
Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Seattle, WA
SDE intern on the Search Customer Experience QA Team. Developed a unified framework for Android and iOS mobile search peformance testing utilizing Amazon's DeviceFarm mobile cloud service. The framework executes concurrent mobile search queries and tracks relevant latency metrics. As a result of this project, the test suite is both automated and decreased daily performance test suite run time by over 60%.

### Software Engineer Intern @ Cisco Meraki
Jan 2016 – Jan 2016
Full stack web development on the Dashboard Security Team. Automated internal auditing of errors, such as segfaults, across all servers using auditd, and generated interactive data visualizations with that data using Graphite. Also designed and built a new admin permission check out system for the use of Meraki employees with the intent of protecting customer networks from unauthorized changes.
