# Khiem Nguyen > design @ Microsoft AI Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/khiem I love making sense out of complex systems and processes through the creation of delightful, intuitive, and functional experiences - on behalf of end-users. And the best thing? I’m blessed with the gift to make a career out of it (10+ years and counting!) Currently living and breathing AI Design @ Microsoft AI. Check out my work at khiemisme.com ## Work Experience ### Principal Product Designer @ Microsoft AI Jan 2026 – Present | Redmond, Washington, United States ### Staff Product Designer @ TikTok Jan 2024 – Present | Bellevue, Washington, United States Part of TikTok’s Global Monetization org and the internal CRM platform team. Led design strategy & execution for the internal CRM platform’s first ever AI-powered Sales Assistant launch (nicknamed “SalesAlly”), bringing the wonders and might of agentic AI to the finger tips of TikTok’s global Sales teams. Had great fun collaborating with product, engineering, product marketing, and business leadership on this strategic initiative. In addition to working on AI product experiences, one of my other focuses in this role was to help define a new creative and design collaborative dynamic where our CRM designers can leverage more AI tooling througout their E2E process. Turned out getting this right in a big tech corporate context is a lot harder than it seems! ### Lead Product Designer @ Domino Data Lab Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | Seattle, Washington, United States Designed MLOps experiences. Our niche focus is on helping enterprises from traditional industries optimize their AI/ML investments and flex their innovation muscles. ### Lead Product Designer @ Salesforce Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | Bellevue, Washington, United States Part of the Mulesoft family. Swam in the world of Monitoring & Observability for Mulesoft-powered API-led networks. Collaborated with cross-functional partners to rethink Anypoint Monitoring’s user experience in its entirety. Took the product through an end-to-end UX research, discovery, and design execution cycle. Implemented a rigorous but lean UX research program along the way. Helped the org envision the future for Anypoint Monitoring by crafting various North Star prototypes that accompanied a strong multi-years product roadmap. Partnered with product management and engineering to scope out and design the MVP UX for Anypoint Monitoring 2.0. ### Sr. Product Designer @ Oracle Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Seattle, Washington, United States Spent around two quarters working on vision projects for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Data & AI team. The most exciting of which was creating a North Star design for its Data Catalog product where I had a chance to lead end-to-end discovery research studies as well as many design exploration workshops. This truly forced me to move outside of my design confort zone in face of an intriguingly complex technical problem / domain. ### Sr. Product Designer @ Oracle Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | Seattle, Washington, United States Worked on internal SecurityOps tools / services and helped improve Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s SecOps experiences. The mission was simple - optimizing devs' day-to-day security operational workflows, and accordingly giving them back the time critically needed to focus on innovating and building the next-generation Oracle Cloud. Supported various incremental releases for Security Central - the company’s flagship internal Security Management service. ### Product Designer II @ Oracle Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Seattle, Washington, United States Had the valuable opportunity to partner directly with product teams and other stakeholders across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to craft UX solutions and provide design support for the launch of some of OCI's earliest services (DBaaS, Storage, Compute, and Networking to name a few). And that was already my first 14 months at this amazing and rapidly growing OCI team. ### Product Designer @ Microsoft Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Redmond, Washington Worked in a small UX team within the Microsoft IT organization to design & build an end-to-end North Star experience prototype for a new internal CRM application - supporting a multi-years product roadmap. Biggest learning from this gig? Seeing how a business problem is tackled as an opportunity for new ideas to blossom, before taking it through a user-centered design process for validation and iteration, gradually transforming it into a technological solution for our users. ### Product Design Intern @ GE Digital Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Redmond, Washington Worked within the Grid Solutions team. Collaborated with cross-functional teams to redesign e-terrasimulator Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) - a software used by electrical grid operators to simulate power distribution environments for training purposes. This was possibly one of the coolest projects I've worked on. It's unique, complex, and full of design challenges & opportunities. ## Education ### Master of Science (M.S.) in Information Management - User Experience Research & Design University of Washington Jan 2015 – Jan 2017 ### Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Studies - International Political Economy & Business University of Washington Jan 2012 – Jan 2014 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/kylekhiemnguyen - Portfolio: http://www.khiemisme.com --- Source: https://flows.cv/khiem JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/khiem/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-30
