Early on I did a lot of work on the backend as well helping the company rewrite their backend GraphQL implementation. On the frontend, I helped streamline their development process by integrating tools to synchronize the backend and frontend graphQL types using code generation.. This streamlined their developer experience tremendously and got a lot of positive feedback. Helped lead projects and lead product review meetings to ensure devs understood the requirements. Took on new greenfield work to help lay the foundation. Volunteered to help manage projects to ensure deadlines are met. My extensive experience with true full stack experience has been extremely helpful in my role. ### Sr. Software Engineer @ Edmunds.com Jan 2016 – Jan 2020 | Greater Los Angeles Area At Edmunds.com I worked in the Ads department, building systems at scale to process and mange thousands of lineitems per month and supporting an Ad system that delivers millions of ad impressions per day. I worked closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, and Account Managers to spec out and design systems to solve a business problem. I would often be given high level problems that the team wants to solve and from there I would work with the users and stakeholders to figure out exactly what is needed short term and long term. Once the initial information and requirements gathering is complete, I would then write up an RFC with various possible solutions and listing the pros and cons of each. After the team has reviewed it I would work with the technical team to debate the merits and shortcomings to come to a final decision on how we want to proceed. Once we have decided, I would then create epics and stories for the teams to begin work. Our team worked really well together. We had on-shore and off-shore members. Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 Worked primarily on the backend building REST APIs using ruby on rails for a photo sharing monetization app. Helped build the service layers to implement the business logic for supporting the mobile app and webapp. We used MySQL for the database, Rails for the backend, and Heroku for deployment. ### Founder @ Teekr Jan 2012 – Jan 2014 | Los Angeles, California, United States Built and trained a neural network to recognize digits (this was in 2012 before handwriting recognition became commoditized) Worked with teachers and students at an elementary school to gather user needs and testing with students for feedback. Built a dynamic native mobile app that took advantage of an HTML UI but also leveraged on device native GPU acceleration for matrix linear algebra operations for inference.
