I am the Engineering Manager at RKI Instruments, Inc. My first 12 years at RKI were spent writing the manuals and becoming very familiar with the operation of the instruments we sell. 

As the Engineering Manager, I get to interact with other departments and provide support for issues that come up. I also get to be involved in new product development, where I can provide insight about features and functionality.

My Engineering team consists of 4 engineers, a drafter, a technical writer, and a test technician. I oversee the projects they are working on and remove roadblocks, as necessary.

Wrote clear and concise operator’s manuals that outlined proper use and maintenance of gas detection equipment thus ensuring customer safety. 

Created and edited all drawings required for the operator’s manuals.
 
Tested various instrument configurations and scenarios to ensure that all possible cases were described in the manual.

Designed a new carbon dioxide scrubber that eliminated the problems caused by the previous scrubber. Generated all documentation necessary to begin building the scrubber in-house.
