# Kim Chan > Product Design @VMware Location: Redwood City, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/kimchan I’m a product designer who’s curiosity into the “why” has led me down a more generalist path. I value understanding both a product’s big picture, and how my design efforts help solve user and business problems. As a versatile designer, I’m as comfortable switching gears between formulating strategy, to working out detailed interaction requirements, to presenting to executives. I look to Product Management and Engineering as my key partners, and highly appreciate those cross-functional relationships. I value design thinking, and the ability to translate the conceptual into concrete, actionable results. Throughout my career, I’ve also been fortunate to work with talented folks from whom I’ve been able to learn. This is one of the best aspects of being on a team --- the ongoing process of learning through collaborating with colleagues. I hope to continue this pattern as I evolve my journey. :) --- PRODUCT DESIGN SKILLS: UX/UI, Interaction/Visual design, Wireframing, Sitemaps, Persona development, User flow mapping, Prototyping, Spec-writing, User testing facilitation DEVELOPMENT: HTML/CSS, former coursework in Javascript, Java, C, C++ ## Work Experience ### Staff Product Designer @ VMware Jan 2021 – Present Product design lead for a cloud automation platform. ### Sr Product Designer @ VMware Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 | Palo Alto, California ### Senior Product Designer @ Ten-X Jan 2016 – Jan 2018 | San Mateo, CA Focused on improving the investor journey for an online, real-estate marketplace.
