Responsible for maintaining and extending Workday's REST and SOAP infrastructure to handle billions of API requests monthly. ### Performance Engineer @ Workday Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | Pleasanton, California, United States Performance engineer on the Financials Scalability team. Developed a Scala-based API for programmatically interacting with Workday's user interface, enabling automated high-volume performance tests to ensure that Workday will be a viable enterprise solution for the world's largest companies. ### Software Engineer (Technology Rotation Program) @ Workday Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Pleasanton, California, United States Worked with 3 different teams in my first year as part of Workday's Technology Rotation program. Team 3: Build and Release Engineering (DevOps) Used Docker to containerize large databases frequently used by developers, and developed a corresponding TeamCity pipeline to listen for database changes and automatically publish new Docker images. This Docker-based solution improved database load times by 30%, enabling developers to boot up local environments more rapidly. ### Software Engineer (Technology Rotation Program) @ Workday Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Pleasanton, California, United States Worked with 3 different teams in my first year as part of Workday's Technology Rotation program. Team 2: Pipeline Identified shortcomings in the team’s existing Jira-based solution for managing developer requests and designed a dual Ruby on Rails + Jira system to simplify the team’s administrative duties while enabling developers to retain existing Jira workflows. ### Software Engineer (Technology Rotation Program) @ Workday Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Pleasanton, California Worked with 3 different teams in my first year as part of Workday's Technology Rotation program. Team 1: Business Intelligence and Reporting Analyzed the current state of Workday's custom query language to identify performance and usability concerns, then shared findings with product managers to guide the implementation of a semantics framework. Reviewed feedback from multiple development teams to refine guidelines and increase framework adoption rate. ### Math Tutor @ UC Davis Student Academic Success Center Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 Peer tutor for the MAT 21 series at UC Davis (calculus and vector analysis). Effectively communicated abstract concepts through concrete examples, improved students’ understanding of the material by identifying knowledge gaps, and provided studying and test-taking strategies. Great interpersonal skills, kept students engaged and motivated through positive reinforcement. ### Software Engineer Intern @ Workday Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Pleasanton, California Developed a data visualization dashboard to help application developers monitor the health of Workday's REST API, enabling them to pinpoint and debug performance issues in the 3 billion+ API requests Workday receives each month. Met with app devs to discuss project goals, enhanced internal logs by identifying and implementing missing metrics, and evaluated multiple visualization options. Worked with Java, Apache Hive, Atlassian suite. ### SUITS challenge participant @ NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | Houston, Texas Area Software development team lead for the NASA SUITS challenge. Our team used the Microsoft HoloLens to design an augmented-reality interface for astronauts to use during missions in space. We spent 5 months designing and building our project, and I collaborated with the design team to implement their ideas in the HoloLens. One member of the design team and I spent a week at Johnson Space Center to test our design and improve on it. The week ended with a presentation to representatives from NASA and Microsoft. Used the Unity game engine and C# for development. ### Software Engineering Intern @ LitePoint Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | San Francisco Bay Area Migrated the software behind LitePoint's automated testing routines from Visual Studio 2008/.NET 3.5 to Visual Studio 2015/.NET 4.6.1, ensuring LitePoint's development platform will be usable for the next 5 years. Involved extensive troubleshooting and debugging, close attention to detail. Also developed a tool to print equipment serial numbers, facilitating in-house production at LitePoint. Worked with C#, Visual Studio, .NET, SVN. ### IT Operations @ UC Davis Office of Research Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 Member of the technical support team at the UC Davis Office of Research. Duties included troubleshooting Windows and Linux systems, configuring new workstations, and setting up hardware including printers and projectors. Developed a Java program to automatically update a mailing list of 400+ users. The initial task was estimated to take 6 hours; my program finished in under 20 minutes by simulating mouse clicks and keyboard input. Significantly streamlined inventory management by writing a JavaScript program to automate gathering PC information from the manufacturer's website (serial number, model, warranty info) and populate an Excel spreadsheet. ### Research Intern @ UC Santa Cruz Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 Summer internship with a UCSC graduate student of astronomy, developed Python scripts to aid in studying the Crab Nebula. Our goal was to observe the motion of gaseous wisps around the nebula by analyzing image data from telescopes. I delivered an oral presentation on our findings at the end of the summer. Gained experience with the NumPy and SciPy scientific computing libraries. ## Education ### Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering University of California, Davis ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/kiranbhadury --- Source: https://flows.cv/kiranbhadury JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/kiranbhadury/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-05
