# Kris Elbert > Software Engineer at Google Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/kriselbert Software engineer who seeks challenges, solves problems, and thrives on innovation. Energetic and passionate, with an Electrical and Computer Engineering/Computer Science degree from Duke University. Experienced in software design, 3D modeling, and digital fabrication in addition to customer service and education, with expertise in object-oriented programming and front-end and full-stack development. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Google Jan 2021 – Present | Mountain View, California, United States ### Software Engineer @ SS&C Advent Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | San Francisco, California, United States Added new parameters and settings to the core Portfolio Rebalancing product. Enabled migration to auto-populate databases at service launch time, created custom loading of attributes and files for clients, and added sorting, filtering, and searching capabilities for new attributes. Troubleshooted and resolved slow query issues by introducing SQL indexing and removing dangling associations between entities that had been removed from the database, shaving minutes off of the time taken to refresh data from ground to cloud. Reduced the number of entities being stored in the cache by modifying association logic. Created a Jenkins job to automatically create databases and copy contents between environments in Kubernetes and Swarm to greatly improve development velocity. ### DesignHub Services Founding Member & Technical Consultant @ Duke University Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 | Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area Designed and constructed creative engineering solutions. Led a wide range of clients through the design process from concept to product. These clients consisted of students, Duke Hospital staff, and University Researchers. Notable past projects include third world organ transport devices and machinery parts. Organized and taught courses on CAD, 3D printing, and CNC machining. Oversaw the world’s largest 3D printing bank in higher education. Assist students and researchers in optimizing projects using 3D scanners, 3D printers (FDM Ultimakers and SLA Formlabs, 3DSystems, Markforged, Iris, and Stratasys), laser cutters (Epilog CO2), and CNC mills (ShopBot, Tormach, and Carvey) ### Software Engineering, Product Development @ PrecisionLender Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Cary, North Carolina Designed and implemented a full stack web app to deliver real time NLP-driven insights based on user queries to PrecisionLender's AI client. Created wireframes of the UI which was then developed using TypeScript, Knockout.js, HTML, and CSS to be a responsive, dynamic, and accessible experience. Used AJAX calls to retrieve JSON files that were parsed and reformatted in the C# backend. ### Life Sciences Intern @ Carbon Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 Engaged with customers, greatly reduced client wait time for sample parts using a supply chain dashboard. Developed a full stack Excel dashboard to enable engineers to rapidly process and visualize 3D printing statistics from any individual Carbon printer. Generated and produced low-cost, high-resolution parts from client submitted 3D files. Optimized client designs to decrease cost and production time. Validated part accuracy and material consistency ### Engineering Intern @ Fathom Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Durham, North Carolina Built a framework to collect and accumulate force measurements and time series data from impact sensors embedded in an athlete insole. Wrote Google Sheets scripts to aggregate and curate millions of athlete training and recovery data points to inform injury prevention strategies. ### Congressional Intern @ Congressman Leonard Lance (US-NJ District 7) Jan 2012 – Jan 2013 | Westfield, New Jersey Communicated directly with constituents, organized responses into a national database. Created a plan to improve civics education and encourage involvement for local high school students that included outreach through social media, a forum for voicing opinions, and school education. ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering Duke University Jan 2015 – Jan 2019 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/kriselbert --- Source: https://flows.cv/kriselbert JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/kriselbert/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
