Projects 1. Workflow Framework (Gravity): - Built a workflow framework from scratch to support several workflows that users are put through as part of payment onboarding. - This framework is one of its kind in the market that supports automated flows as well as flows that need user intervention. - This framework offers rich feature set and makes the onboarding of flows a breeze. We have onboarded close to 15 flows (onboarding, verification, KYC) in no time. 2. RiskOCR: - I have designed the RiskOCR component to extract text from images provided by users and verify the user provided information. - RiskOCR project POC won the hackweek award at eBay. - I have led a team of two interns, which focused on building the RiskOCR with more enriched features. - Currently working on productionalizing this component and exposing OCR as a service to other teams internally. 3. SRM (Seller Risk Rating Modeling): - Designed End to End Architecture of Seller Risk Rating Model. - This design involved building services, batch applications and data pipelines & external vendor integrations. - Helped an entire team to understand the design, build components etc. 4. KYC (Know Your Customer) Components: - Instrumental in Design & development of Notification Service (REST Based). - Designed & Developed Policy Service (RuleBook based) that would efficiently handle the KYC State transitions. - Built Monitoring pipeline using Kafka, Elastic Search & Kibana. Most of the Risk & KYC components/services use this pipeline to stream monitoring events. - Built several REST based entity services. - Used graphQL to POC revamp of existing entity services. ### Senior Software Engineer @ LendUp Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco Bay Area Skills: Java, Python, MySQL, Dropwizard, REST APIs, Microservices, Apache Airflow. ### Member of Technical Staff @ Springpath Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Sunnyvale, California Skills: Java, Scala, Python, REST APIs, Apache Thrift, Zookeeper, Virtual Machines, Replication & Disaster Recovery. Worked on building distributed system management components for Springpath Hyperconverged Storage Platform A.K.A Cisco HyperFlex. Some of the modules I worked on: - Cluster Scaling APIs exposed over Apache Thrift. - CLIs built on python. - Zookeeper for Bookkeeping cluster metadata & Service Discovery. - REST APIs for Configuring Network for Asynchronous Replication. The above mentioned components were implemented using Java , Scala and SQL, NOSQL distributed databases such as zookeeper. ### Software Development Engineer @ Cisco Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 | San Francisco Bay Area Skills: C++, Python, extJs, APIs, CLIs Worked on the Application Policy Infrastructure Controller(an SDN controller) for next generation of Cisco Nexus family (Nexus 9000). - Developed IPv6 infrastructure support for management interfaces (InBand & OutOfBand) of Application Policy Infrastructure Controllers. - Developed APIs for Routing Protocols(BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) configuration in Simple GUI (management interface for APIC) using extJs framework. ### Software Developer @ NC State University Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 Developed a website for the Ergonomics department, a start-up at NCSU. This website involves gathering customer data, surveying, providing training and assessment and generating excel reports. This is being developed on PHP and SQL platforms. ### Software Engineering Intern @ Aruba Networks Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 | Sunnyvale,California 1. Developed the "AP Client Simulator". This project is about converting the Aruba Access Point (AP) to act as a wireless Linux client (WPA Supplicant) and run connectivity and reachability tests. This involves modifying the AOS kernel and user space code to convert AP to client and provide the user with a customized CLI for configuring the client with different authentication profiles and test parameters. 2. Designed and Developed "AP Performance Dashboard" Tool. This tool collects all the AP performance metrics and displays them onto a single flash based Dashboard. The results are plotted as bar graphs and line graphs so that user can make analysis of various performance metrics for a single AP platform across multiple releases and across multiple builds of a single release. ### Teaching Assistant @ NC State University Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 My responsibilities include Designing the assignments, Evaluating the assignments and Assisting professor in grading for Machine Learning course taught at Graduate level. Additionally, I use to hold office hours and clarify the queries for students taking the course. ### MTS-2 @ NetApp Jan 2012 – Jan 2013 | Bangalore, India 1. As part of the stress and scalability engineering team, I developed several automated scripts for testing, analyzing and enhancing the NAS protocol functions. I was also part of this engineering team for multiple phases of software development life cycle of the NetApp’s flagship product called “Data ONTAP”. 2. Involved in client optimization project, As part of this project I worked on the implementation of SWIFTTEST tool in the continuous product engineering team and across several other teams at NetApp. The usage of the swiftest tool reduces the high dependency on the physical clients. ### MTS-1 @ NetApp Jan 2010 – Jan 2012 | Bangalore, India 1. Involved in Stress and Scalability engineering of NAS protocols namely CIFS and NFS. These Network Attached Storage protocols are used in file accessing, reading and writing IO on the files served by the Storage or File Server over the network. 2. Worked in the areas of Active Directory configuration, Microsoft Exchange configuration and several other network configurations compatible with ONTAP’s architecture. ### Intern @ NetApp Jan 2010 – Jan 2010 | Bangalore,India. Developed a tool called “LOFF – Tool for populating windows compatible files.” This is developed to stress the CIFS Protocol subsystem of the Data ONTAP by populating different types of files compatible with windows operating system and pumping the IO load through various operations such as read, write, append and locking of the populated files. ### Intern @ IGCAR Jan 2008 – Jan 2008 Developed a Web based Portal for Monitoring Grid Network of IGCAR. This Web Portal monitors the status of jobs scheduled and allows a user to schedule his tasks at a particular time based on the availability of the resources on the systems connected over the GRID Network at IGCAR. ## Education ### Master's degree in Computer Science North Carolina State University ### Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/kumar-mohan-22a47086 --- Source: https://flows.cv/kumarmohan JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/kumarmohan/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-12
