• Worked on a team of 5 in a Lutron Hackathon to enable push notifications in the apps using SNS, APNs and firebase
• Responsible for the system design and app software design for the schedules feature in the Lutron app for high end residential homeowners, saving calls to their installers and Lutron for minor tweaks
• Worked on an infrastructure-as-code project using AWS cdk to migrate firmware upgrade servers from Heroku to AWS Lambdas with Amazon Aurora Database and RDS proxy. This helped bring down server maintenance costs by approximately 40%.
• App lead of the Lighting Designer Mode of the Athena system, which won the coveted ‘Best of Year’ award in the Technology category by Interior Design Magazine in December 2020. Used Decorator and Dependency injection patterns to achieve a highly decoupled architecture.
• Helped integrate the color-control feature of Lutron’s newly acquired Ketra system, which is one of the leading drivers of the company’s revenue.
• Designed and implemented features while being the app component lead in a cross-functional team, to provide third-party integrations such as HomeKit, Google Home and Alexa, using Swift and Objective C.
• Worked directly with Lutron tech support and customers to troubleshoot job site issues, contributing to positive reviews and ratings on the App Store.
• Appointed as Senior Code Reviewer for the Lutron app code base early in the job role, due to contributions made to the Multi-Home feature and for possessing an extensive understanding of the code base.
• Helped establish open PR policies and rules to improve the daily scrum execution within the app team.
• Supervised 2 co-ops, trained new hires and been active in recruitment.
• Collaborated with other teams (cloud, processor, UX, etc.) to get customer facing features such as light schedule creation, user data privacy enhancements, etc.
