I am a developer that enjoys pushing the web platform. I am a Lead Frontend Engineer at Gremlin, working on internal tools, services, and the customer-facing application. I am passionate about building high-performing interactive user-interface experiences. This passion has led me to create several open-source projects, including Emotion, a CSS-in-JS library. Emotion was orders-of-magnitude more performant than contemporary offerings which pushed the entire space to make performance a primary feature. It continues to be a leader in the space today. My professional ambition is to continue to expand my knowledge as a developer by exploring new languages, technologies, and challenges.

- Built the initial version of a performance intensive solution to render custom CMS templates as React components both on the client and server.

- Worked on the initial UI and framework used to render the application's shell and articles.
- Developed the emotion css-in-js library during this time to gain further performance improvements around memory and CPU usage while server-side rendering complex, dynamic pages.

- Developed the real-time chat application from the ground up using React/Redux which included live chat with keystroke preview and interruption logic, custom embed rendering for links, drag and drop uploads, and more.
- Designed and implemented a custom WebSocket communication layer for the frontend that allowed the app to display chat member's text in real-time down to keystroke granularity. 
- Built an immersive metrics experience that allowed admins to visualize and analyze engadgement live during real-time conversations.

- Lead developer on 5 mobile hybrid apps using modern frameworks such as Backbone.js, and Angular with HTML5 and CSS3
