Acting both as an engineering lead and individual contributor.

Led full stack effort involving 10 engineers to develop premium subscription offering for customers. Project involved creation of new feature flagging and limiting framework as well as a service layer which handled adjusting customers accounts when they changed tiers or lapsed on their subscription. This effort reversed a huge amount of accumulated tech debt from various teams using different frameworks to handle feature flagging and centralized a load of distributed/duplicated logic which previously handled gating features. As a result of this effort, addition of new gated features was trivialized and made a lot safer. Engineering effort to change accessibility of existing gated features was reduced to essentially 0.

Led effort involving 4 engineers to condense the number of unique user experiences on the Rev.com platform. Involved significant frontend work as well removal and refactoring of significant amounts of backend logic which previously supported various customer experiences. Worked closely with product and customer experience teams to ensure that customers on old experiences were cleanly migrated. Resulted in a ~3x increase in speed of developing user experience.

Individually designed and built a microservice to handle user permissioning across a variety of “teams” and “organizations”. Replaced multiple SQL tables and a significant chunk of service logic in the monolith to improve customer experience and flexibility of data model. Involved significant refactor to existing user data model affecting all services and engineering teams at the company. Required large data migration of ~10M records from SQL Server database to DynamoDb along with significant data model change. Result was a microservice which gave customers significantly more flexibility in how they organize and share information with users on their teams.
