Shipped an AI powered speech-operated self-checkout kiosk that secured three retail partners by providing real-time responses to customer queries about the store, product, and payment in under two seconds.

Led and designed the VUI (voice user interface) design and the end-to-end user experience of the AI powered speech-operated self-checkout kiosk.

Conducted three formal usability testings (910+ tracked sessions, 175 exit‑survey respondents) and several guerrilla floor tests, uncovering core pain-points during session initiation, turn-based conversation interactions, and fulfilling specific phrase requirements for verbal orders.

Addressed pain-points through cross functionally collaborating with software engineers, developing and integrating multimodal interactions, interrupt features for fluid conversations, and iterating the VUI (voice user interfaces) to enhance the conversation experiences between fine tuned SLM/LLM models and users.

Improved the user’s comprehension of the kiosk’s verbal operation from 10% to 80%, tripled transaction completion rates, reduced the time user hesitation before responding to the AI agent by 50%, and cut total checkout time by 25%.
