Throughout my career I have worn many hats in product design, engineering, and machine learning surrounding the public sector that have led me to developing business intelligence features primarily focused on risk and asset management for b2b companies
Experience
Walnut Creek, California, United States
At SewerAI I joined the product platform team where I work on developing business intelligence features, contractor suite tools, GIS interfaces, among other soon to be announced projects :)
2021 — 2023
New York, New York, United States
At Dataminr I joined the Human AI Innovation team with the goal to build out new user interfaces and experiences that would leverage machine learning models and stateful AI to speed up workflows for internal users.
Enhanced product accuracy by integrating several AI models with React and Scala
Sped up alert generation and eliminated training time for a set of internal users by prototyping, implementing, and testing a new generative AI workflow
Reduced Amazon Mechanical Turk costs by more than 60% by developing a task generating framework using python, node.js, labelstudio, and the AWS API
Deployed and maintained A/B experiments to test new features and support model development
Led the designs based on prior user research to enable better use of existing machine learning models for an internal application
Built interactive visualizations to depict research concepts and compare implementation strategies
New York City Metropolitan Area
At Arta I led the development for an in house design system and component library while migrating legacy code to a more performant and inexpensive stack. I outlined the system for and built out a suite of construction technology tools that leveraged machine learning models to automate estimate bidding and project management.
Increased company internal product uptime to 99.9% using AWS services like API Gateway
Migrated class based React frontend to React hooks and functional components
Provided mockups for company website and internal facing projects
Built a custom headless CMS with a WYSIWYG interface
Constructed a RESTful API with Express.js
Wrote accessibility and unit tests with Gulp and added to continuous integration pipeline
Designed company logo and letterhead
2017 — 2019
Greater New York City Area
At NYU I joined the OTSS team within the Facilities and Construction Management department where I defined the processes for designing mockups and building interactive prototypes for web and mobile first applications. The applications I helped design and build focused on making facility maintenance accessible across the organization and managing the university's capital projects. During my tenure I also focused on making existing university applications AA compliant by WCAG standards and outlined data mining opportunities for the development of machine learning models.
Identified the need for and developed an accessibility plugin in javascript to help speed up design sprints that would provide acceptable color contrast combinations for WCAG defined AA compliance
Designed and developed a ticket form and then extracted features to develop predictive models that used user and contractor data to suggest facility solutions
Iterated on logos, mockups, and prototypes for several applications
Ported internal design system to a React component library
Bridged handoff process between design and development teams by writing semantic HTML and CSS for react components
Performed accessibility testing and wrote unit tests to ensure products met mandatory AA compliance
Moderated focus groups and processed feedback to iterate on designs for a university wide project that also served surrounding communities
