Jan 2024 – Present ### Senior Full Stack Developer / Tech Lead @ OtterTune Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 • Tech Lead of the full stack team, managing a team of 5 developers, giving guidance and technical feedback, co-driving the technical roadmap, and ensuring the team’s success. Worked with marketing and product design teams to enhance the product and UX and ensure that the team's work aligns with the company's goals. • Under my leadership, we decreased the number of new bugs by 45% while implementing new features. • Reduced CircleCI bill by over 40% by optimizing Cypress tests and leveraging partial re-runs of failed tests. • Implemented a custom notification management system that allows users to subscribe to various notification types and receive notifications via email or Slack. • Helped migrate over 2000 users from Okta to Auth0. This included a rework of our authentication and navigation flow, fixing conflicts with our routing system, and ensuring a smooth transition for our users. This also enabled us to support enterprise customers with SSO. ### Co-Founder @ Founder Buddies Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 Founder Buddies is a program for female entrepreneurs to connect with likeminded women. • Built a platform for facilitating peer-to-peer connections between female entrepreneurs using NextJS, Typescript, and MySQL (via Prisma). • Implemented a matching algorithm in Python that scores users based on their company stage, industry, and preferences, taking into account time zones and availability. • Ran a successful 4-month cohort with over 100 entrepreneurs, leading to 150 successful matches and meaningful permanent connections. ### Full Stack Developer @ Kialo Jan 2019 – Jan 2023 | Berlin Area, Germany • Developed a multitude of key features and processes for an educational debate platform with over 500k users. • Mentored and onboarded new hires teaching them the fundamentals of full stack development, software architecture, and development best practices. • Led weekly zero-downtime deployments to our three production sites, including post-deployment tasks and database migrations. • Led as part of a 4-person team the migration of over 800 React class components to hooks and functional components. This also encompassed a refactoring of over 900 jest enzyme test files to the React Testing Library. • Conducted technical interviews for potential new hires. ### Research Assistant @ Hasso Plattner Institute Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | Potsdam Area, Germany Collaboration on Hyrise, an open-source research in-memory database written in modern C++. Improved multi-threaded performance by a factor of 30 (as measured by the standardized TPC-H benchmark) by reducing various bottlenecks found through targeted performance analysis and profiling (VTune, Valgrind). Built a REPL command line interface that is now used as primary tool for testing new features. Implemented an SQLite test runner to validate Hyrise's SQL query evaluation. Added support for multi-threaded benchmarking to Hyrise's benchmark runner. ### Software Engineer Intern @ SAP Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | Palo Alto, California Worked on the SAP Data Hub, a data integration and orchestration solution across enterprise data sources and data lakes. Built a Javascript scripting engine (using Duktape as backend) and implemented logging functionality for Libzeug, an open-source C++ library that contains frequently required stand-alone features.
