I have written clients to interface with external websites via (usually) REST APIs. I often implement solutions using various AWS offerings such as Lambda, RDS, EC2, Route 53 and so on. I have developed numerous database schemas and defined (both declarative and imperative) SQLAlchemy models to go with them. I spearheaded Paradigm's conversion from SVN to Git. I worked on the implementation of the conversion of company's core service from Perl/Mason to Python/Flask. ### Software Engineer @ Livejournal.com Jan 2010 – Jan 2011 programmer C, Perl. Mysql, perlbal, varnish. LiveJournal is a social / blogging site that has been active since the late 1990s. Nowadays the corporate offices are in Moscow, RUS but their servers (and their ops team) are located here in the United States. While at LiveJournal I was the sole software engineer on the Ops team; my duties involved tool writing, troubleshooting, configuration and maintenance of existing code. As a member of the Ops team, one of my responsibilities was to participate in 24/7 on call rotation. ### Contract Software Engineer @ Paradigm Healthcare Services Jan 2009 – Jan 2010 This is a short term contract. My responsibilities are centered around reducing the length of a priortized list of bugs and enhancements. The environment is Centos, Apache, Perl, Mason, Trac, svn, Oracle. For source control, I use the git-svn bridge; I run Ubuntu on my workstation. ### Software Developer @ SFGate.com Jan 2007 – Jan 2009 SFGate.com is one of the top ranked news sites in the country. It serves mainly the San Francisco Bay Area market. At SFGate, the duties of a staff software engineer are numerous and it is often necessary to handle a multiple task workload. ### Software engineer @ Sparkart Jan 2006 – Jan 2007 Sparkart hosts websites for (mainly) media personalities (crissangel.com, lpunderground.com ...) At Sparkart I worked on an internal engineering project. I wrote a Java API to a locally written database server.
