I've always been fascinated by computers, but it wasn't until then that I discovered the joy of creating something with a life of its own, capable of making decisions, interacting with you, even sometimes rebelling and not doing what you want it to :) My first full-time project was an online game that I worked on for several years. Grew initial team from 5 to 10 engineers via internal and external hiring. Delivered results across a variety of projects: * In response to the Dec 2023 Red Sea Ocean Transit Disruption incident, built and launched customer-facing impacted shipment map view and downloadable report in 48 hours. Over 25% of clients engaged with it, leaving strong positive feedback, and it was spotlighted in company and executive-level marketing across social channels. * Led 7-month cross-team project with 24 engineers, delivering a new shipment tracking system that increases Flexport's accessible share of wallet for enterprise clients from 25% to 100%. * Improved P95 page load speed across three largest pages by 2x to 4.5x (11.6 => 2.1 seconds). * Migrated session replay from FullStory to Datadog, reducing cost from $6700/mo to $350/mo. Wrote 2D world rendering engine in Pixi.js, with React UI elements for profile / chat / menus layered over it. Designed and implemented Redux global store to synchronize between the React component tree, 2D rendering engine, and the server. ### Founder / Lead Engineer @ World of Bleach online RPG Jan 2010 – Jan 2018 Analyzed user feedback, prioritized, and developed updates to improve enjoyment and attract/retain users, growing user base from 0 to 1500+ monthly active users and $5k+ monthly net revenue. Designed and created game from the ground up with an intricate 2D grid turn-based combat system incorporating client and server, featuring over 50 unique ability effects that drive deep strategic gameplay. * Implemented pathfinding of player movement and accurate simulation of attacks with granular tile-by-tile interaction when colliding against both system-created and player-created obstacles.
