# Lexi Yan > Senior Product Designer | Design Strategist | Service Designer Experienced in transportation, logistics, marketplaces, mental health, behavior change, and climate Location: Oakland, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/lexiyan I'm a passionate product designer with five years of professional experience who loves creating digital experiences that make the world a better place. During my Bachelor of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University, I realized that my true passion was creating amazing user experiences that influence the way people perceive the world around them. My background in architecture leads me to be a strong systems thinker who always considers how individual touchpoints come together to form a cohesive experience. It also influences how I solve problems: utilizing rapid iterations and regular critiques to drive the direction of projects. During my internship at Taller Ken, I helped design and build a much-needed public space while balancing the design goals, monetary limitations, cultural sensitivity, and social needs of the community. While interning at HP, I learned the inner workings of designing for enterprise needs. By balancing different stakeholders and various user types, I learned how in-house solutions could translate into business profits by improving employee satisfaction and efficiency. Being a part of Moxie allowed me to drive the direction and design of a lifestyle tracking mobile app that encouraged users to be more mindful of their digestive health. Spearheading the redesign of Flight Live allowed me to learn how to design a SaaS product that gave flexibility and marketability to our main users while taking into account how their decisions would impact the experience of their clients. Designing at Benjamin Moore allowed me to learn how a design system scales during a period of rapid digital modernization. My most notable experience to date has been leading the design team for BootCareer. This experience has enabled me to become a stronger leader who can work collaboratively with product and engineering teams to drive the direction and timelines of a digital product. To date, I've led the team through conducting user research, sketching and wireframing screens, creating a design system based on material design, producing high-fidelity screens and prototypes, and extensive QA testing. I'm a self-driven designer who always strives to make the best decisions for the users. Good design can't happen without user research, and I love working for companies that truly embody this. I thrive in collaborative, creative, and transparent environments where people are constantly exploring and learning. ## Work Experience ### Product Design & Design Strategy Consultant @ www.lexyan.com Jan 2019 – Present | New Jersey, United States Besides the other work listed on my LinkedIn, I've also: • Led research efforts including discovery calls and usability testing for an AI localization tool to assist in the subtitle and metadata creation process for Netflix localization vendors • Helped two LGBTQ+ organizations establish their personal websites through WordPress as part of a team of designers and developers, under a project manager, taking part in Out in Tech's Digital Corps • Consulted on content management, information architecture, branding, and visual design for a corporate consultant’s personal website • Researched descriptions, unified product content strategy, and added images to improve user-product evaluation on website e-commerce shop • Analyzed a company's Instagram presence to improve visual consistency and tone to fit the company's message with a 285% increase in engagement ### UX Researcher & Designer @ Culture Flipper Jan 2025 – Jan 2025 𝗠𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 • Drove research strategy for AI SaaS product helping localization professionals streamline their workflow • Conducted research with Netflix localization vendors to understand their workflow and pain points • Navigated multiple strategy and product pivots while collaborating cross-functionally with the founder, engineers, and go-to-market specialist ### Design Strategy Consultant @ TRAVARAS (Techstars ‘24) Jan 2025 – Jan 2025 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 Travaras is working to provide authentic, immersive travel experiences while prioritizing sustainability and respecting local cultures.
