Developed a reusable rich-text editor that is intended for teachers and students to be able to use as part of Khan Academy’s new Writing Coach offering, utilizing Slate and React. The rich text editor saved content in Markdown, and styles were synchronized between the editor and viewer . Tests were written in Cypress to work around the limitations of testing contenteditable DOM nodes in Jest.

During a months-long epic to implement learning modules, the epic lead left the company unexpectedly. I was tasked with bringing the epic to completion, which I was able to do by the established due date. The work from this epic was released as part of the August back-to-school season.

Led multiple projects as part of an effort to expand the assignment library to support teachers of classes in grades 3 to 5. These projects required multiple discussions and coordination with other teams to ensure that the requirements and task breakdowns were correct, and that end user needs were being met.

As lead backend developer, designed and implemented relational database schema in SQL Server, and developed multiple services running on Node.js, Java Spring Boot, and .NET Core to handle APIs for the application. Also worked with the development team to architect a Vue single page application for the UI.
