• Built and scaled the first London team for Facebook Smart Glasses from scratch and led the performance-driven team. (of size >15 and growing within a year)

• London site lead to build SG London site: scale it to 4 team across 3 pillars (Platform, AI, Experience Eng) in 1 year

• Defined clear strategy, direction and mission for the newly formed Assistant Data and ML Platform team; graduated the team to platform + product with clear product vision of Assistant Model Factory.

• Identified opportunities to share technology across teams and manage partnership opportunity with cross-functional partners.

• Led the team to propose, design and ship Assistant Model Factory as unified assistant model building services and experience E2E and extend the product user base from Assistant to Facebook Reality Lab.

• Recruit, support and grow the engineer team to 9 FTE + 4 CW in both Redmond and MPK with healthy, open team culture.

• Defined technical strategy and direction as first engineer in the team. Successfully drove the business adoption of big data technology in both science experiments and model production pipeline. Developed and released the initial automated data pipeline for TAM (Title Attribution Model) project; led the team for multiple high impact model automation pipeline development. (Title Attribution Model/ Customer Engagement Ranking Model/Content Exhaustion Models /Prime Structural Demand Model etc.)

• Built the high perf eng team from scratch as the only engineer to a team of size 12 with mature practice and stable structure (senior TL, engineer manager and clear long term roadmap in place) as well as open and sharing culture. Successfully grew individual experienced engineer to senior level and management role.

• Created team vision, direction and tech strategy; defined and aligned business ownership between engineer team and science/customer partner teams as well as within engineer team; developed and successfully drove team adoption of engineer/operation excellence and planning best practice.
