### Discovery Learning Apprentice for Smart Hospital Room Project @ University of Colorado at Boulder

The goal of this project is to improve the quality of care for these patients by providing access to room interfaces as well as the ability to connect to care providers and maintain a social network during the recovery period. Alternative interfaces are used to provide this access as well as emerging IT platforms and wireless devices that are compatible with the hospital environment. The initial prototype for this project was funded through grant 0607883 by the National Science Foundation. A pilot study at Denver Health Medical Center is currently in the initial stages of development after receiving COMIRB approval.

My current project is to design an application that will act as a mouse control for patients who have more extreme limitations in their upper extremities. Using facial detection, the cursor will move based on head movements.  The program will also track the eyes and detect blinks, which will be used for selection.

•	Built a Python GUI on top of a SQL backend to track and perform automated research surrounding malicious IPs for the Secretary of State’s Information Security program.  Program utilized nslookup to determine the source of different IP addresses. Showed initiative to learn Python without any assistance or teaching.
•	Configured network analysis equipment for the State of Colorado’s voter registration system.  Wrote detailed Stand Operating Procedures to assist with future configuration and troubleshooting.
•	Performed quarterly wireless audits to meet Payment Card Industry compliance.
•	Tracked licensing for software and other Information systems purchases.
•	Installed and configured Windows 7 on multiple workstations.
