# Li Zhang > Generative AI => Agentic AI => Artificial General Intelligence Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/lizhang As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Adobe, I'm working on the frontier of large language models (LLMs)/vision-language models (VLMs) to power next-generation design applications. My current focus is on using reinforcement learning(RL) to enable single/multi-step reasoning and intelligent tool use in creative workflows. I have architected and built end-to-end systems for design content understanding, generation, variation, as well as multimodal embeddings. This includes building scalable data pipelines, orchestrating multi-node distributed training, evaluation based on both human heuristics and AI, applying RL-based post-training on massive datasets to advance the state of generative AI for creative design. I also initiated and prototyped a design agent/MCP platform that enables customers to create and share their own design agents/MCP/workflow, seamlessly bridging generative AI tooling contribution with real-world creative workflows. ## Work Experience ### Principal Engineer, RL & Simulation @ NVIDIA Jan 2026 – Present | Santa Clara County, CA ### Staff Machine Learning Scientist @ Adobe Jan 2021 – Jan 2026 | San Jose, CA Make design agents for EVERYONE GenAI multi-modality model design / training / evaluation Apply AGI for completely NEW user experience Cloud computing Distributed ML pipeline Sensei platform Reinforcement Learning for AIOps ### Senior Machine Learning Engineer @ Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc.
