Full stack python dev with experience writing infrastructure in the AWS, Google, and Azure Clouds.  I believe strongly in continuous integration (travis, jenkins, gitlab) with an emphasis on test driven development.

Experience with git/github, docker, unix (especially Ubuntu), APIs (restful, swagger), and bash.  I have a strong biology background, and will deep dive into learning almost anything.

### Software Engineer @ UCSC Genomics Institute

Currently the lead developer for Toil, an open-source python tool for the scientific community built to run data analysis pipelines that scale to many thousands of nodes (aws, google, azure).

I've run and contributed to a number of scientific pipelines for the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) and also for Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed).

I also work on the backends for the NIH Data Commons cloud infrastructure, and for CZI's Human Cell Atlas.

### Undergraduate Researcher @ UC Santa Cruz
Jan 2015 – Jan 2017 | Santa Cruz, California
Wetlab and software work for the Bogomolni lab in studying the mechanics of light-activated proteins, particularly LOV domains.  Purified proteins, grew cultures, ran PCR, and ran quantum models on the university's cluster to study the mechanics inside of the LOV domain.

### Bioreactor Developer (iGEM) @ iGEM Competition
Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Santa Cruz, California
UCSC's iGEM 2016 was a summer research project to genetically engineer bacteria to produce an edible sweetener from almond hulls.  I primarily worked on software and electronics for our automated bioreactor, while helping with wetlab work.
