Analyzed product specifications and technical specifications. Provided feedback on specification feasibility. Implemented specifications following existing processes. Researched and debugged technical issues and supported other team members in doing so. Held the rest of the team accountable to existing processes, code standards, and general best practices. Provided technical mentorship. Wrote technical specifications to improve existing frameworks, create new frameworks, and to alter the existing architecture. Maintained and optimized performance of existing features. Wrote and maintained technical documentation. Ensured new code was integrated into our CI and automated testing suites, and added tests for code which had not yet been integrated. Contributed to technical specifications for cross-functional work (API interfaces). Monitored production application behavior via Sentry, AppStore Connect, and XCode Organizer. Worked closely with the Design, Marketing, and Product teams to iterate not only on the app, but also on the business’ idea-to-feature pipeline.
When we switched from React Native to iOS Swift, I spent my free time learning the latest about iOS development and started officially working on the iOS codebase as a developer. I built the majority of the app’s platform protection integrations which were the core features of the app. I worked primarily in week-long sprints and ensured the app was updated weekly. For privacy reasons, Jumbo was built entirely client-side, without any use of servers. This unique architecture proved to be quite a technical challenge to accomplish, as well as a major selling point for users and investors.
Initially joined the team to help build prototypes for potential product ideas using tools like Framer. My prototypes were shown to investors and used to gain initial funding for an immersive chat-based app that we built until pivoting to a privacy tool. In the first month I spent my free time learning TypeScript/React and transitioned to a development role on the back-end for our chat app at the end of summer 2018. After another month I also began working on the front-end of the app using React Native.
