# Lucas Chaves Meyles > Software Engineer, Camera Tools at indie Semiconductor Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/lucaschavesmeyles I am software engineer at indie Semiconductor with the camera tools team where I build high-quality tooling to assist the image quality, firmware, and application teams. I also build tooling for external clients to tune, calibrate, and process imaging information on our cutting-edge iND880 camera video processor chip, which was recently awarded the 2024 auto sensor innovation of the year by AutoTech. I primarily work in C and C++ with the Qt framework to create an intuitive GUI platform for our tooling application. I also have extensive experience with Python and Rust for building back-end algorithmic pipelines for our tooling. I also work as a math competition instructor at Art of Problem Solving in Saratoga, where I teach a rigorous curriculum to high-achieving math students. Courses taught include Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus, Middle School Contest Math (AMC 8 level), and High School Contest Math (AMC 10/12 and AIME level). Prior to that, I graduated with a pure math degree and a minor in computer science from UCLA in 2023. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ indie Semiconductor Jan 2024 – Present | San Jose, California, United States - Primarily assists the Image Signal Processing (ISP) team on camera host tools and firmware projects as required. In addition, I will collaborate with the imaging algorithms, firmware, and image quality teams on firmware projects. - Supports improvements in the current suite of camera host tools for Indie’s family of camera video processor solutions. - Writes automation scripts to speed up the camera bring-up process flow and migrate existing systems to new environments. - Assists in infrastructure development for testing, validation and troubleshooting ISP hardware and firmware subsystems. ### Math Competitions Instructor @ Art of Problem Solving Jan 2023 – Present | Santa Clara, California, United States I instructed high-performing students in grades 6-12 for competition-level mathematics including algebra, geometry, probability, number theory, calculus, and more subjects. This also included intense preparation for mathematics competitions including AMC 10/12, AIME, and USAMO. ### Math Grader @ UCLA Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 | Los Angeles, California, United States Graded 60+ undergraduates' homework for Math 180 - Graph Theory, an upper-division math class at UCLA. Solved and released solution sets for all homework throughout the quarter. ### Research Assistant @ Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM) Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Providence, Rhode Island, United States Under the supervision of tenured faculty on Brown University's campus, I presented research on a variety of combinatorial problems involving parking functions with a small group of other undergraduates. We studied these parking functions through theoretical and computational methods. I gave regular talks, attended mini-courses & professional development seminars, and learned key skills in software development. This 8-week program culminated in a paper written and presentation given on our mathematical findings. ### Teaching Fellow @ Breakthrough Silicon Valley Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | San Jose, California, United States I interned as a teaching fellow at Breakthrough Collaborative's Silicon Valley site. I designed detailed lesson plans daily for 20+ students for both science and speech & debate curricula. In addition, I headed a group of 7 students in teaching and personal development through community building activities. In sum, I lifted student performance in science with an average 25% increase in test scores over the program’s duration. ### Shift Supervisor @ Rancho Santa Teresa Swim Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | San Jose, California, United States Worked as shift supervisor at Rancho Santa Teresa Swim and Racquet Club. Led 20+ lifeguards on facility management, safety training, and event organizing. Ensured safe and smooth opening during COVID-19 outbreak by drafting and implementing a new COVID-19 procedure compliant with San Jose Department of Health protocols. ### Summer Intern @ OLogic, Inc. Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | San Francisco Bay Area Worked on cleaning, soldering, and handling PCBs. Cleaned up the lab area and created schematics for electronics projects. ## Education ### Bachelor's degree in Pure Mathematics UCLA ### Santa Teresa High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/lucas-chaves-meyles-24a520179 --- Source: https://flows.cv/lucaschavesmeyles JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/lucaschavesmeyles/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-11
